Two Harbors Lighthouse, Two Harbors, MN, Rt 61 ~25 mi N of Duluth; on point between Burlington Bay & Agate Bay; towns of Burlington & Agate Bay merged into Two Harbors 1907; first lit 1892, electricity replaced kerosene 1921, twin 1000W aerobeacons replaced 4th-order Fresnel lens 1969, still in use but private aid to navigation; lantern room 78 ft above lake, 43.5 ft above base of tower; automated 1981, leased by Lake County Historical Society about then, given to LCHS by 1999 act of Congress; operated by LCHS as museum and B&B; can't get inside fence without paying $5, & we had little time before closing so didn't go in; National Register of Historic Places 1984 (84001483); boat Crusader II, built 1939, is Lake Superior fishing boat
