Wexner Center - SE side

I visited the Ohio State campus November 1, 2015, with Ruth Ann (her first visit) and two of my three brothers an their wives (Jim and Claudia, Ted and Beth), my first time on campus in more that 25 years; besides walking around the Oval, went to two areas just off the Oval: (1) Wexner Center & Mershon Auditorium at the NE corner and (2) Mirror Lake at the SW corner. At the end of the afternoon, we stopped at Ohio Stadium (much expanded from my years on campus). Larger trees blocking views of some buildings along the Oval were among the noticeable changes. Wexner Center for the Arts, W of Mershon Auditorium at 15th Ave & N College Rd, NE end of Oval, opened 1989 on site of old Armory built 1897 & torn down after 1958 fire (I remember Armory from OSU band camp in summer 1958); Wexner Center includes some style cues from Armory; named for Harry L Wexner, father of Leslie H Wexner, who contributed major portion of funding for the center when built & later made $100 million gift primarily for OSU medical programs (at what is now the Wexner Medical Center) but also for the arts center; Mershon Auditorium, built 1957 but operated by Wexner Center since 1989, has main floor & balcony seating for ~2500; apparently serves performing arts aspect of Wexner Center's comprehensive arts focus
