Inglis Grain Elevators, CA National Historic Site (Manitoba)

Inglis Grain Elevators National Historic Site at Inglis, Manitoba, has five old-style wood elevators; although once common, this is one of two such Canadian elevator rows still standing (six elevators at Warner, Alberta, are not protected by historic designation). The railroad came to the new town of Inglis in 1922, when four of the five elevators were built. Historic site status recognizes the importance of grain elevators in development of Canada's prairies. We visited in late September 2014, on a clear day with harsh sunlight and a high temperature near 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
